October 30, 2009:
We have a fabulous, highly-talented cast drawn from around Colorado Springs that features Matthew Newton from the Fine Arts Center as Mr. Bennet, and Ms. Anne Krill, a 60-year-veteran of the stage, as the formidable Lady Catherine de Bourgh. With freshly-baked concessions catered by Montague's Parlour and all-original music, I'm very excited to invite you to share an evening of Austenesque taste-and-sound-delight with us!
August 5, 2009
Members of the cast spent the day at Glen Eryie Castle learing about the Regency period. The guys played cards in General Palmer's study, enjoyed had a rousing game of Cricket on the lawn, and hiked Queen's Canyon. The ladies learned that "A lady's education was taken, almost entirely, at home. There were boarding schools, but no University, and the studies were very different. She learned French, drawing, dancing, music, and the use of globes. If the school, or the governess, was interested in teaching any practical skills, she learned plain sewing as well as embroidery, and accounts". *
Mrs. Chelsea East was our governess for the day teaching English Poetry, how to make introductions in French includig a bit of history about the style of dress & hair for the period, which came from the Greek and Roman culture.

Yes, we're looking for a few good men! If you are among those who love Jane Austen's work of Pride and Prejudice, then you know that the story has a cult following; especially among women drawing a mostly female audience. However, were it not for a few good men ~ like the strong, tall, dark-haired Mr. Darcy, the charming, attractive villian, Wickam, and the witty, self-contained Mr. Bennet, well, there would not be much of a story to tell! Be sure to share this fabulous casting opportunity with the leading men in your life.
