Forestgate Community Theater is based at Forestgate Presbyterian Church in north Colorado Springs. It exists to provide excellence in the theatre arts within the community, to bring theatre artists together, and to glorify God in this arena.
It all began in the spring of 2004 with a production of Little Women directed by Joan Funke. This was followed by A Night of Comedy in 2005, also directed by Joan.
The fall of 2006 brought an original adaptation of Anne of Green Gables to the stage, with the book, lyrics and direction by Karen Hamer, and music by musicians Jeff Tankersley, Dave Khaliqi and Stephen Baran.
Most recently, in the summer of 2008, Joan Funke directed The Sound of Music with Forestgate Community Theatre's largest-ever cast!
Pride and Prejudice, an original play-with-music by playwright and director, Karen Hamer, played for 12 shows in November 2009 -- to total audiences of over 1,800 people.
We eagerly await our next production and we hope you will join us!
